The Harley-Davidson began to became highly regarded when William Harley and Arthur Davidson produced last 1903 the first creation of motorcycle. The motorbike was to be a racing bike, and was built in a small shed wooden with the words Harley-Davidson Motor Company written on the front door. The first race on 1905 was won by Harley-Davidson and then they hired their first employee. After 3 years, they sold to the Detroit Police department their first motorcycles which was used as a police service. H-D built 6 story factory in 1912 then began to export their first bikes to Japan.
H-D became more popular in 1914 and was called “The Wrecking Crew” when formally registered the national racing circuit. In 1917, part of the motorcyles they created were sold the military and was used as military and civilian bikes.
In 1918, half of the bikes were shipped to Germany and became the military service in World War. It was Corporal Roy Holts, the first soldier that used the H-D motorcycle. The H-D became even more productive in 1920, generated 2000 dealers in 67 countries.
The Harley-Davidson competitor’s were gone in 1931 except for the Indian Motorcycle Company. In 1953, there were only two successful motocrycle companies, the Harley-Davidson and the Indian Motorcycle Company.
As being the world gets into into World War 2, so does Harley get back into Military motorcycle development, and the service school is flipped back up in the military motorcycle service school, generally known as the Quartermaster School for military mechanics. The Harley-Davidson Motorcycle were rarely reached out by the public during this time.
